As a parent, one of the toughest things to do is to get your kids to eat. They go through these phases where they don't want to eat, don't like what you're serving them, etc. It gets to the point that sometimes you find yourself making meals for the kids that are different than yours just because you know they'll eat.

It's quite the battle and one that's raged on for years. I mean, who doesn't have a story of something that your parents forced you to eat — sitting at the dinner table, refusing to throw down those peas because they were "nasty."

Well, can you imagine being so distraught over what your parents were serving you for dinner that you go ballistic and tear apart the house, splattering food all over the place?

That's what happened with a family recently in Boston.

From the local Fox affiliate:

A son allegedly tore his mother’s house apart and splattered food all over the kitchen after he said he did not like a meal she prepared for him.
Marcelino Valentin, 24, of Boston, allegedly lost his temper and broke two kitchen chairs, overturned a table and broke a light fixture in the kitchen ceiling in an enraged state.

Officers responded to Lexington Street in East Boston where his mother said her son got angry after she prepared a meal he didn't like. Officers also observed some kind of food splattered all over the kitchen. A search of the area enabled officers to locate the suspect in close proximity to his home.

Valentin was arrested and charged with willful and malicious destruction of property.

Now, something tells me that the mother called the cops because the kid (a term I use loosely in this situation) was out of control and she was at her wits' end.

I realize that this dude is 24, but really, come on. Do you need to take it to that level? I've seen three year-olds act this way too. But, geez...grow up.

What would you have done in this situation? Do you make different meals for your kids even if they are 24-years-old? I'm kidding, of course.
