Criminal Minds?

School is back in session: it’s time to clear the brain fog and get to learning. Do you know what your children are being taught in the classroom?
If they attend a certain high school in Adelaide, Australia they may be learning to plot a full blown terrorist attack.
Cbsnews.com reports that a high school teacher, who remains unnamed, gave her class an assignment to plot a terrorist attack that would kill as many innocent Australians as possible.
Pupils were instructed to choose the best time of day for the attack, explain the choice of victim, and describe the type of bodily harm that would be inflicted. The project specifically stated, “your goal is to kill the MOST innocent civilians to get your message across.”
The principal of the school pulled the plug on the assignment “as soon as he heard of it” or as soon as he got wind of the letter from Sarah Gilbert, a 15-year- old student who objected the project.
What was this teacher thinking?
Well, according to the article, she had no intention of promoting terrorism. In fact, it is suggested that she was attempting to teach students to view conflict from a different perspective. (What ever happened to showing a good ol' fashioned documentary?).
This is a complete and utter outrage! In a world post 9/11, after the 2004 bombings in Madrid, and the attacks in London where 56 people where killed and 700 injured, an assignment like this has no place in schools.
Did she even consider what menacing thoughts a project like this would evoke? Seriously, children should not have to plot and analyze how and why they would commit murder. What the hell? Who is she teaching? Norman Bates? This educator, and I use the term loosely, seems to have the support of the principal and the Department of Education. I can’t wait to see next week’s assignment,"Gain at least five connects in a Columbian drug cartel.” On the job training, eh?
