Toronto Humane Society Officials Found Inhumane

Tim Trow, the Toronto Humane Society President, is arrested and taken away from the Toronto Humane Society on Thursday, November 26, 2009The Toronto Humane Society, an animal hospital established in 1887, had a very good reputation until last year. There had been news regarding funds corruption, malpractices, carelessness by the staff and higher management. All this was being opposed by the management on their site. Recent news published at the National Post has exposed the top management’s involvement in malpractices and mismanagement of funds for more than a year.

This is a classic case of an organization working for more than two decades turning all their fame earned to defamation by moving from humane to inhumane and going from sane to insane. It could not happen unless the culprits included top management’s consent or the culprits were top management itself. So many animals found unattended, in poor health state, some near to dying state narrated the whole story when the premises was raided.

The latest raid concluded that the funds were being misused instead of using them for the upkeep. The findings reveal certain hard bitten facts like the funds were not being utilized appropriately for the upkeep of animal’s shelter, health and food. Most of the animals were found in a very critical and poor health state. Now the point arises that it can happen only if all involved conspire together to mismanage the funds for their own selfish motives. The involvement of the president, chief veterinarian, general manager, shelter supervisor, and board of directors has clearly proven that it was a mutually consented crime. If one has to see how man has become a "bigger" and more "dangerous" animal than an animals on the earth, this is more than enough to prove it.

One more point that raises alarm: shelter houses are inspected every six months and the condition of the shelter house and animals indicates the game was on for more than a year. Then why not audit the previous inspections? Maybe they should check and see what was offered to the inspectors, if anything, for hiding the facts or keeping mum.
