The Not So Sugary Truth

Imagine a world without a sugar…  Kind of hard, isn’t it?  A world without sugary foods which are high in fructose can eliminate many health threats.

People are least likely to look at lessening sugar intakes when they go on dieting.  The more common way for most people to attempt to be healthier is by counting their fats and calories.  This has been the way most of us have been taught.  Why doesn’t anyone ever watch their carbohydrate and sugar intakes?  I am quite positive that many would find quite a shocking surprise if they have not tried this yet.

Cutting back on carbs is a science that has been on the rise for quite some time.  The low carb way to live is proving to be the thing to do for many people.  It has been said in many writings and scientific studies that cutting back on carbs and sugar can help to alleviate obesity, diabetes, and hypertension.

Eating foods that are high in sugar and carbs are especially dangerous for obesity.  The sugar is already increasing the level of glucose in the blood stream.  Carbs convert to sugar once they are in the blood stream having the same effect on the increase of the glucose levels.  Both of these threats slow the metabolism making the body store fat much easier.

We all love pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and many other foods that are high in carbs.  Many of these food favorites have the worst of both worlds, sugars and carbs.  You don’t necessarily have to give these up; just slightly alter your selections.

Jorge Cruise has written a phenomenal book called “The Belly Fat Cure.”  This book very simply asks each person to limit their carbs to 120 grams or less per day, and their sugar grams to 15 or less.  The book features a great list of suggested foods as well as foods that will help each person lead a healthier lifestyle without giving up the foods that you love.  The best part is that you will not even have to sacrifice that great taste that you are used to.
