The League of Extraordinary Night Owls
A pair of crazy New Yorkers have found a way to extend their work day, according to the New York Times.
Amber Lambke and Allan Grinshtein founded New York Night Owls last April to fuel creative juices for those who don't have enough time in their day to work on that autobiography that will make them millionaires, or because their co-workers constantly work against them (looking at you, CrazyReesie), or simply because their Circadian rhythms are screwed up...er, wired differently than most.
The idea has taken off around the States, and even in Stockholm. Creative, entrepreneurial types aren't doomed to isolation in their processes anymore. They can bounce ideas of each other and share knowledge while drinking a beer or chowing on chicken wings.
If you're lucky, your local Night Owl chapter might call an aspiring cookbook writer a member, as Stockholm's does. The founder, Johan Hedberg, supplies home baked goods and coffee in the hopes that a photographer will show up to take nice photos for him. See, it can be a mutually beneficial relationship!
Geeks and online gamers have been staying up late together for years, but the New Yorkers have made it socially acceptable again. Thanks, guys, for making the leap from virtual back to physical reality and reconnecting with humanity.
