Something you want. Something you need. Something to wear. Somthing to read.

Just love this variation on the 'something old, something new' saying as a family gift-giving guide for the holidays. A caller shared it on the radio show - http://www.cbc.ca/ontariotoday/ - December 17, 2009.

For me gift-giving at Christmas is always a bit of an indulgence. I just love to give people something special ... something extravagant and desperately wanted (well, for those close to me anyway), something inexpensive but meaningful, something of a surprise, something they never knew they needed, something of a guess-what-this-is, something that 'speaks' about who they are or what they love, something tasty ... oh, the possibilities are endless!

What's under the tree for my daugther this year? Something she wants (with a 2-year contract that she will be paying for out of her babysitting money). Something she needs. Something to wear. Something to read.
