While watching the athletes compete in the Winter Olympics, I can't help but become emotional over their hard work and dedication. Each one of them has worked especially hard to make it this far. I can only imagine what they have had to endure to make their dream come true.

The contestants on American Idol will have several chances over the next few months to prove themselves. Although most of them have not trained under the intensity that is necessary for the Olympics, they will certainly have to work hard to hold on to their spots as the contest progresses.

The dedication of all of these young people as they work toward their goals attracts millions of viewers. It's a victorious feeling when our team brings home the gold.

In an interview with ESPN, it was noted how, with a swollen shin and badly bruised leg, Lindsey Vonn won the gold medal in spite of her injury.

"A huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders now. I got the gold medal that I came here to get. And now I'm just going to attack every day, with no regrets and no fear," said Vonn, a 25-year-old who lives and trains in Vail, Colorado. "And, I mean, I'm just happy with one. Anything else from here on out is a bonus."

Nearly everyone has had a dream for themselves which is probably why we are so proud of these young people as they take that step forward to make their dream come true. But dreams are not just for people under the age of 30, and they aren't limited to international glory. Many women dream of having a beautiful body that they can be proud of. Although it takes hard work and dedication, it is possible to achieve a fabulous figure. It's not only possible but it is probable with a sensible diet and a women's fitness and exercise program.

So as you watch the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, cheer your team on and appreciate the hard work and dedication of these fine athletes. Enjoy the emerging talent on American Idol. Then think about your own hope for the future. Are you committed enough to make a change in your life?

Don't let your size or shape keep you from doing all you can to reach your goal. Life is too short to miss out on your golden dream for success.
