Many people are struggling to loose the weight they gained during the holidays, and some of you have given up on your resolutions. I’m here to remind you to not surrender, and to provide you with ways to re-energize your weight-loss efforts.

The compounds I’m about to reveal should be used in the context of an overall healthy nutritional and exercise plan. You should first eat for good health, with a moderate amount of low-glycemic carbs, and a moderate amount of fats, then exercise enough, and then implement my strategies.

Green tea extract can help you lose up to 30 pounds

Green tea has been proven to reduce bodyfat and weight in lab and clinical research. A recent study with obese subjects showed that drinking just 4 cups of green tea per day for 8 weeks caused a significant decrease in bodyweight, compared to those on placebo. Using 2 green tea extract capsules per day also caused significant reductions in bodyweight. Those using green tea also experienced lower LDL (the bad cholesterol) levels. Both protocols contained the same amount of EGCG, the green tea compound responsible for its beneficial effects. Therefore after you dump all your soft drinks, even those that are sugar free, start to drink 4 to 6 cups of green tea per day. To obtain the strongest effects, you must use tea leaves, and steep them for 15 minutes to extract the most of the powerful fat-fighting compounds.

A different green tea extract study involved 100 obese subjects. The study showed that green tea phytosomes, a green tea extract complexed with phospholipids, and a reduced calorie diet, caused a 30.9 pound weight loss in 90 days, compared to about 11 pounds for those on placebo who just dieted. But even after 45 days, subjects who used the extract lost about 13.2 pounds, compared to 4.4 pounds for those on placebo. The men were on a diet with approximately 1850 calories/day, while the women were on 1350 calories. Thus, those on the extract had weight loss that was about 3 times greater than those on placebo. WARNING: Don’t drink green tea or use green tea supplements if you’re pregnant or trying to conceive because it blocks folate metabolism.
