EMT Who Refused to Help Dying Pregnant Woman Shot and Killed
I am a firm believer in karma, which is loosely defined as any deed or action committed will be returned in kind. Or to put it another way, if you do good and positive things in life, you will have good and positive things happen back to you. Give or a take a few mishaps along the way. Vice versa, if you do negative or bad things, you should also expect the same.
It all comes down to intentions and motives really - and that's where our little tale of karma and a selfish EMT intertwine.
Back in December, an employee at a NYC Au Bon Pain was in distress. Eutisha Rennix was six months pregnant and had complained to co-workers she was having trouble breathing. Sometime during her medical emergency, two NYC EMTs, Jason Green and Melisa Jackson, enter the restaurant for their lunch break. They are approached by store employees to help the pregnant woman, but according to reports, refused and instead suggested they call 911 for the woman. They then took their snacks and left. Eutisha died a few hours later from an asthma attack, and her premature baby also died shortly after delivery.
The two EMTs were put on a 30-day suspension, though a criminal investigation is still pending.
Fast forward to this past weekend and we have reports that Green was involved in an altercation outside of a NYC nightclub that turned violent. Witnesses say Green and a friend were denied entrance to Greenhouse nightclub and shortly thereafter a fight broke out between Green and another group of men. During the fight, Green kicked someone in the face and then someone shot Green twice in the stomach. Green died later at a NYC hospital.
