Crossing the Creepy Line
1. You frequently give unwanted gifts.
One is sweet, two can be considered thoughtful, but three is annoying. And anything after that may warrant an unpleasant confrontation, so stop while you're ahead.
2. You habitually drive by their residence.
Unless you're the mail carrier or a FedEx employee, this kind of activity is likely to trigger suspicion in friends, neighbors and strangers. Seriously, if you don't want to be served with a restraining order, then backing off would be a good idea. Which brings me to my next point...
3. You constantly show up uninvited.
An exclusive party, their home and (if you're not their coworker) their job are three places that you should not crash. Respect their boundaries.
4. You text, tweet or call them several times a day to ask them where they are, what they're doing and who they're with.
Honestly, why do this? After all, if you're attempting to contact the object of your affection during business hours, then they're probably at work, working, while surrounded by coworkers. And if they're a student, then they're likely on campus, studying, and surrounded by classmates, so stop wasting your cell minutes.
5. After being denied, you attempt to "friend" them by utilizing yet ANOTHER Facebook ID.
According to the social networking behemoth, you've got more than 500 million active users to potentially "friend," so why limit yourself to just one individual? Please, don't be afraid to expand your relational horizons.
6. You pay for online documents just to find out their current address, phone number and marital history.
Really? Chances are, if they wanted you to have this information, you would already. Stop playing private eye and invest your funds elsewhere, like in a Roth IRA.
7. You can't take no for an answer.
This is self-explanatory.
