I have recently joined the thousands of Canadian citizens to use Employment Insurance (EI); however, is it a bad thing that I am on EI?

No, definitely not! EI allows me to get my mind in the right place and work on things that I am passionate about. We lose focus on the important things in life when we are stuck in our day-to-day routines at work. EI clears your mind and allows you to focus on those things. Sure, you aren’t making nearly enough money on EI; however, it is temporary, so stay positive; an opportunity will present itself soon.

I am a young marketing professional that graduated from University only a year and half ago, and I am on EI. With the economy the way it is nowadays, I am forced to be innovative, positive and focused.

Case in point: being on EI can be terrifying BUT don’t take the employment crisis too seriously. Take advantage of the many government initiative available and you will be back on your feet any day now. Regroup, get focused and concentrate on what is important to you. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and please keep your fingers crossed for me.
