The Real Housewives of NYC Premiere Did Not Dissappoint
Well, we had one hum dinger of a first episode of the Real Housewives of NYC.
The promos were definitely not exaggerated teasers. If anything the viewers got even more then expected.
The fights were-a-plenty, lots of claws, fangs and tongues like swords. There was however one really big surprise of the night for me. I have always been on team Jill. She was real, honest, kind and one of my favorites. Well, Jill seems to have been possessed by some evil demon seed and I think an exorcism may be in order here.
It's hard to believe that between one season and the next that someone can change so drastically. But as God is my witness I am so off team Jill it's not even funny. She truly did change into one of the mean girls. I was aghast through so much of what I saw. Even her face, eyes, and facial expressions have hardened. Jill what happened to you? Fame is not agreeing with you, I'm sad to say.
Bethenny remains my favorite. She is still honest, forthright and not looking to lash out at anyone. She can and does hold her own under attack beautifully. Does she still have a tongue that can facet diamonds? Yup, and I love her even more for it. I wish I could say the same for the rest of the ladies. Bethenny looked amazing posing in the buff for her PETA ad and good for her.
Ramona, in all honesty, acted like her rocker has tilted. That boat ride had her vacillating between laughter, arguing, tears, arguing and then laughter again. Sybil (of the multiple personalities) had nothing on her in this episode. She kept talking about turning over a new leaf, I just wished she hadn't pulled that leaf from the crazy tree. She's living up to those eyes alright!
Alex is still Alex, and I've come to tolerate her better with time. She has eased up on the whole social climbing obsession and fake hoity-toity airs that she had embraced mightily in the past seasons.
Kelly sadly is still Kelly. I liked the show better without her and I still, simply find her annoying. Perhaps it's all her posing mixed with a dearth of intelligence and communication skills. Regardless, she remains an unlikeable character to me.
I can't wait to see what the ladies get up to this week! The show goes back to its regular time and viewers can tune in Thursday at 10pm ET/PT on Bravo.
