Ranking The American Idol Ladies

The ladies of American Idol are stepping it up and owning the stage. They are improving each week and the players are solidifying their position every time they perform.
My favorites this week:
Crystal Bowersox: She has remained my number one from day one. As Simon said, "this is her contest to lose as she is the one to beat." She covered Tracy Chapman's "Give Me One Reason" and it was simply awesome. Her performances are effortless and riveting and I can't wait to hear her each week.
Siobhan Magnus: This dark horse is taking a lead. She covered "House of the Rising Sun" and the performance was quite simply mesmerizing. Her a capella at the beginning was riveting and she has an amazing tone to her voice. Keep it coming, Siobhan.
Lilly Scott: She covered Patsy Cline's "I Fall to Pieces" and made it hers. It was fresh, original, did not sound old or corny and she continues to show that she has a real command of her vocal skills. I still love her.
Didi Benami: Didi accompanied herself on guitar to Fleetwood Mac's "Rhiannon". She did an amazing original version that was a pleasure to listen to. She finally came back in the game with this performance.
Middle of the Road:
Katelyn Epperly: Normally one of my favorites, she covered Carole King's "I Feel the Earth Move" and, um, I didn't feel it move. It was okay. Nothing more and nothing less. Just flat. I know she can do better and I hope she gets the chance to stay on and show us more.
Lacey Brown: She did Brandy Carlisle's "The Story". She really stepped it up, had some impressive voice breaks, and showcased how distinctive her voice is. I am looking forward to seeing if she can step it up enough to be a frontrunner. I'm not convinced she can top my favorites.
The Road Home:
Paige Miles: She sang "Smile", and truly, no one did. It was flat, poorly done and she sang it like she needed one huge dose of Zoloft. It was disappointing and she hasn't hit one out of the park yet for me.
Katie Stevens: She made a bold move, but a dumb one covering Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway", a big song that needs a big voice to carry it. She couldn't carry that one with a handle. It was flat, pitchy, and just weak all around. She needs time and training and isn't ready for the big leagues yet.
The voters will let us all know if they agree or not. On to the men tonight!
