Jill Zarin Ready to Kiss and Make Up..or Save Face and Book Sales?
Anyone who is a fan of The Real Housewives of NYC knows Jill Zarin. They are also intimately aware of the current demise of her former BFF relationship with Bethenny Frankel of the same show. I, among many others, have switched from team Jill to team Bethenny over this one. We saw a side to Jill that revealed a 'mean girl' and a shocking amount of junior high school behavior.
Jill took a small spat with her then BFF and turned it into a something of epic proportions. She vilified Bethenny to anyone who would listen and also played a not so nice message that Bethenny left on her cell phone for anyone who would listen. To me, both actions reek of 'getting everyone on my side' mentality
There are two sides to every story. Bethenny is not an angel. But she is not a devil by any means. She went to Jill, crying, trying to work things out with her. JIll was cold and turned her away. Jill wouldn't, or couldn't discuss the issues and my take is that she knew she wouldn't come out looking so good, and didn't want to go there.
Well, yesterday Ms. Zarin posted on her Facebook Fan Page: "So..what do you do when you have a fight with a friend..and you don't want to make up yet..then when your ready they don't want to? You write, call and send gifts. Suggestions welcome!"
It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out that she is referring to her fight with Bethenny. And honestly, it's all a bit too little and a bit too late. Too many tidbits to go into, but she was cold, mean, and just plain ugly in this whole mess.
My gut tells me, that Ms. Zarin's new book is not doing as well as she had hoped and she is looking to rectify that situation. She comes off as a hypocrite with her own advice in the book, considering what transpired on the show. Poll after online poll shows viewer support is with Bethenny, this could have a negative affect on sales. She went from being one of the most likable housewives of the past two seasons, to one of the most unlikeable this season.
