GETTING HOUSED: Losing All Hope is Freedom on Big Brother

Wednesday was a very special episode for Big Brother. Not a sitcom with an eating disorder or molestation plotline, but it was a very special episode nonetheless.
On Wednesday the final four was whittled down to a final three which means we said goodbye to a fan favorite, no matter who left.
In the show’s final PoV, Hayden, Enzo, Lane and Britney were separated by four walls and had to match pictures to a description on the wall. Harder than it sounds since there were two descriptions and you had to find the picture that had that pair. It won’t translate to text but know this: it wasn’t even close.
CBS decided not to make this dramatic, either due to time or the fact that it was so one-sided. When Enzo hit the buzzer, presumably the first and to that point the only houseguest to hit the buzzer, he had two correct and six incorrect answers. When Hayden hit the buzzer next, presumably for the first time, he was perfect. Game over.
Cue the heartbreak. The Brigade decided to tell Britney about the alliance early in the week so there was no doubt about her future - so she didn’t have any false hope. This sounded like the right thing to do - she certainly has a right to know and if you drag it out and only reveal it at the ceremony, well you just wasted her time and ruined your last few days together.
Lane, Enzo and Britney were together in Hayden’s HoH room while Hayden was downstairs. Enzo put Lane on the spot by asking, “Lane what are you gonna do?” Lane replied, “What? Come on.” The snowball slowly rolled from there.
I thought it was done in poor taste. It was dragged out by asking rhetorical questions. Asking Brit what if there were alliances in the house. Playing it off like it was just Matt and Enzo. And then just Lane and Hayden. Finally revealing it was the four of them together, from day two, named it the Brigade, complete with individual nicknames. We got some iiice cream, and you ain’t got none. It was more like the final scene in The Usual Suspects. Britney was watching all the pieces fall into place and watching her future end. She had a chance. She had hope. And then, she had nothing. She never had a chance and should never have had hope.
