Entourage Recap: Let's Hug It Out

We begin the final season of Entourage 3 months after Vince’s arrest for cocaine possession. The show looks very similar. We have all of the requisite trappings of a typical Entourage episode: attractive women, impressive cars, and celebrity cameos. That being said, one thing is abundantly clear: Our guys need a hug.
When we first run into Vince, he’s giving his “Hello, my name is Vince” speech in a group rehab therapy session. To say scenes like these are not Adrian Grenier’s strong suit would be an understatement. It seems that Vince’s clarity has led him to a terrible movie idea. The rest of the guys spend the episode dancing around his feelings and going to extremes to eliminate possible temptations. Vince makes a big speech at the end of the episode to ensure everyone that he will be okay and not to worry about him. This speech leads to everyone telling him the movie idea is terrible, mercifully ending that terrible plotline.
When we find Eric, he has started his own company with Scott Caan’s character (The Murphy-Lavin Group), and he has broken up with Sloan. Caan even goes as far as to compare them to Jersey Shore’s own Ronnie and Sammi. Eric spends most of the episode either sulking about Sloan or being outacted by a wide margin by Scott Caan. Of all the characters, E needs a hug the most.
Turtle smokes some weed, sets the house on fire, and misses his girlfriend. Whatever.
Drama is being working on putting his animated show together and getting ready to pitch it to the networks. For reasons that remain unclear, Andrew Dice Clay has become involved with the show as Drama’s sidekick. Drama screens the show for people at Vince’s welcome home party. Drama’s show gets laughs from everyone at the party, and gets praise from everyone throughout the episode about the show. There’s one problem: the show is not funny. We need to get Drama back to doing Drama things soon.
