American Idol Voters Finally Turned the Right Paige
The American Idol results show aired live last night on Fox. I called it on 2 out of the three bottom contestants.
The bottom three were:
Paige Miles, Tim Urban and Katie Stevens.
The first two were my picks. I personally thought Andrew Garcia deserved to be in that bottom three, but Katie is almost equally deserving. She simply had a slightly better week this week, but overall neither have showed the right stuff.
Sent home this week was Paige Miles. And about damn time. I have no clue why she lasted as long as she did. She has a decent voice, what she lacks is any kind of stage persona, interest or appeal. This week, her vocals were god-awful and that was her only hold on a spot. I am not sorry to see her go. I am relieved not to have to listen to and watch her each week.
We now have our final 10 that go on tour performing. It was a crucial week to make that cut and congrats to the 10 who survived.
Miley Cyrus, who was this week's mentor, tragically, as it was a lousy week of performances, gave a lousy performance as well. My 12-year old who likes her, said "she sounds awful." I had to explain that this is a live show and that's how she sounds without a crapload of help, ie remixing, back-ups, and pre-recorded tweaked bits.
On the other hand Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas did a duet and sounded great in comparison. My daughter was in her glory.
Next week is R&B and Soul and Usher will be mentoring. Now he has some serious talent and this should be a much better week of performances.
The next episode of American Idol, is Tuesday March 30th at 8-10pm to see the final 10 perform. Wednesday March 31st at 9pm will be the live results show on Fox and Usher will be performing his new hit "OMG."
