Succesor to Wii Showcased at Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 )
As declared a couple of months Nintendo has showcased the successor to their widely popular and top selling Nintendo Wii.
The successor to Wii is called 'Wii U'. It was introduced today at the Electronic Entertainment Expo being held in Los Angeles.
The next generation console from the Japanese gaming giant has its selling point in its unique game controller. The game controller is a touchscren motion sensing device with tablet like features which enable you to play games directly on its 6.2 inch screen. The controller includes the traditional buttons along with a built-in accelerometer and gyroscope, camera, microphone, stereo speakers, sensor strip and a stylus.
The console can be used to broadcast HD videos and supports HDMI and S-video technologies. The console has internal memory and would have the facility to increase memory using SD Memory card or external Hard Disk.
Backward compatibility will form an essential component of the console as not only games but also the controller from the older version of Wii will be supported.
The console may go on sale around April next year.
