Bioshock Infinite was announced on the 12th of August, with a trailer (see below) and a gameplay demonstration that was only allowed to be viewed by the gaming press, with no electronic devices in tow.

Not quite a prequel, the time-frame of the game is set earlier than Bioshock and Bioshock 2, the prior two games in the franchise, though any connection to these two games has not been confirmed. The location of the game, being one of the main talking points, is different. The first two games took place in a pseudo-Ayn Rand dysotopian underwater city.

Infinite, on the other hand, is 180 degrees different; the setting is the city of "Columbia," a floating city that seems to be celebrating July 4th everyday, in a heavy American ultra-nationalist kind of way. The game has already stirred numerous questions that this writer would love to talk with you about, but that is not the point of this article.

One of the brains behind the Bioshock franchise, and perhaps the most influential, is Ken Levine, founding member and creative director of Irrational Games, the company responsible for the Bioshock series. Elusive in many interviews, and notorious for not giving away information, Ken Levine was interviewed by Chad Dukes. Dukes is a radio personality based in the Washington, D.C. area, formerly of the "Big O and Dukes" show (a personal favorite), and is now on 106.7 The Fan. Dukes, like myself, is a huge Bioshock and videogame enthusiast.

What made prior games in the Bioshock series so great is the story, graphics, gameplay and many other things that I highly recommend you, the reader, check out via Youtube (see link above), Wikipedia, or any other outlets.

One of the better interviews I've heard related to the game and to Mr. Levine can be heard here with Mr. Dukes on point. "Would you kindly" take a listen and see the trailer below. Or, you can go to the site for the game here.
