Google Games: A New Mine of Online Games
No official announcement has been made, but several clues suggest that Google will launch an online games website, which may be called “Google Games.”
Google has signed a check of at least $100 million dollars payable to Zynga, the software house that has developed successful games on Facebook, like Farmville and Mafia Wars. Google would also have contacts and agreements with Disney and EA (Electronic Arts).
This month Google also acquired Slide, which develops applications and games for social networks and even Jambool. This company will be important for Google, as it has developed Social Gold, an application that allows players to purchase virtual goods within the various social games and browser games.

Therefore, we are likely to have soon a powerful online games platform that would please all players who are interested in social games, MMO, Browser games and online poker. In fact, in the Zynga poker room alone, there are more than 30 million Facebook users.
But what would be the goal of Google with Google Games, apart from the obvious revenue from advertising? Probably games will be used to attract new users to a new social networking platform, that could be called Google Me and maybe would be the greatest rival of Facebook. So, fans of online games, MMOs, social games and video poker, are you ready for this Google-branded mine of games?
