Paris Hilton, the queen of being famous for being famous - whose great-granddaddy Conrad Hilton is the founder of Hilton Hotels - says she is ready to follow in the footsteps of her family. Paris says she needs a new challenge in her career, which has already seen her become a reality TV star and a singer (I use the term loosely), launch her own fragrances (eau de Valtrex), a clothing line and appear in movies (flops).

Paris HiltonHilton is quoted by FOXNews.com as saying:

"I've pretty much done all you can do, but my next project that I'd like to do is get more involved in real estate - just from being in the business and growing up in it my whole life, it's always something I've been interested in. "And right now that I've done everything I've wanted to do, that would definitely be the next step, to open my own hotels.”

Lucky for Paris, she can get all kinds of input on running a hotel from her famous-named family - or even her new boyfriend/victim Cy Waits, a Vegas nightclub magnate. The two have been seen playing tonsil hockey lately; someone better get the CDC on speed dial STAT!

The Hilton family's great wealth came from, of course, the world-famous Hilton hotel chain. Just like the Fords made their money from Ford automobiles, both families conducted wildly successful eponymous business models.

Paris opening a hotel is likely to be about as successful as the Edsel, which as we all know was one of Ford's rare, but complete and total failures - a car he named after his son. Perhaps if Paris is looking for a new business she should focus on her first name and open a city.
