Miley Cyrus Beats Britney Spears and Kanye West As Worst Celebrity Influence Of 2009

It seems even tweens and teens know a bad thing when they see it, and that bad thing is Miley Cyrus. This gives me hope for the next generation.
According to JustSoYouKnow.com, close to 45K voters voted in a number of polls ranging from "Favorite Female Artist" to "Movie You Thought Would Be Great But Ended Up Sucking." Surprisingly, Transformers: Rise of The Fallen did not win that poll. I demand a recount.
Not so surprising is who took first place in the "Worst Celeb Influence" poll: Miley Cyrus. She certainly had some stiff competition in her category including perennial tabloid favorites Britney Spears and Kanye West, as well as fellow Disney star and oft-times naked Vanessa Hudgens and Transformers hottie Shia LeBeouf, whose own stellar reputation took a hit with a DUI back in 2008. Chris Brown is a glaring omission from this list, perhaps a sign his star has truly fallen off the map. Good riddance.
So how did Miley successfully capture the "Worst Celeb Influence" award, despite being a hugely popular TV star and recording artist? Poor choices. That's the new PC phrase for kids who behave badly. Back in my day, we'd call girls like Miley sluts, but nowadays, when an underage celeb posts salacious pictures on the web, grinds on a stripper poll during an awards show and makes fun of ethnic groups, it's called making "poor choices.
Fiddle faddle.
So the good news is, kids see Miley Cyrus for what Miley is, a bad influence. The bad news, Miley is a millionaire and won't be going away anytime soon.
