Lindsay Lohan Reports To Jail
Our little freckled ginge is settling in for her first night's sleep at Lynwood Correctional Facility tonight. Lindsay, despite several last ditch efforts to avoid going to the pokey, showed up on time and turned herself in.
According to TMZ, Lindsay is handling herself well and was described as stoic as she was cuffed and processed into the system. Lindsay will likely only serve 13 or 14 days based on overcrowding at the jail and the nature of her offense. Lindsay had some last minute lawyer issues when Robert Shapiro bailed on her the night before her court hearing. Her former attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, stepped in for Lindsay and represented her as she stood before Judge Revel prior to her surrender.
In truth, this minor legal excursion could turn out to be a real positive for Lindsay, even if in simple monetary terms. Paris Hilton got tons of publicity from her jail stint and did several post-jail interviews. With Lindsay's new film, Inferno set to begin filming after her jail and rehab obligations are over, Lindsay could be in a very positive situation. Something about celebrities facing the music makes the public more sympathetic, and unlike say Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan has actual talent and skill.
Let's hope she takes full advantage of this situation to get clean both physically and emotionally. Lindsay, please let this be a new beginning for you; you may not be getting any more second chances.
