Cops Spare Dennis Quaid From DUI Arrest
Actor Dennis Quaid and wife Kimberly were given a respite from the Hollywood DUI curse when police officers let Quaid off with a warning instead of an arrest for DUI.
The couple were leaving restaurant Philippe Chows in West Hollywood after attending a premiere for the film One Peace At A Time when the incident occurred. According to TMZ, Dennis entered the car and was about to drive off when police officers arrived, and requested the actor not drive.
Reports state the officers repeatedly asked Quaid to the get out of the car. Quaid responded, "What do you want me to do?"
Was that a rhetorical question?
Common sense prevailing, Dennis, his wife and a friend accompanying them returned to the restaurant and called for a cab.
To add insult to injury, photogs heckled the group with, "You don't want a DUI. You don't want to end up like Mel Gibson?"
What's with the all the rhetoricals?
One has to wonder what the world is coming to when the paparazzi are the ones making smart decisions. It's also reported the Quaids had been partying with the Kardashian sisters, which really does explain where this whole evening went wrong.
Odds are in Dennis' favor he will get another opportunity to make it into Hollywood's Elite DUI club.
