Simon Fuller Announces 'Dream' Project
Simon Fuller and 19 Entertainment, the brainchild behind the American Idol behemoth, announced on December 16th his newest groundbreaking project, If I Can Dream. The new project will begin filming in early 2010.
The innovative premise of this show is a live, around the clock, unedited and mainly online view of five young people trying to make it in Hollywood. Viewers can tune in at www.ificandream.com, with Clear Channel providing some radio broadcasts and Hulu.com airing a weekly edited episode internationally.
The show is aimed at the hugely growing social network populace, and the viewing audience can use My Space, Twitter and Facebook to comment and influence. If I Can Dream will feature a model, a musician and three actors who will live together in a house in Hollywood Hills. They will try out new ideas, rehearse and perform live via continuous stream. Mr. Fuller is on the money, literally, when he asserts, "I am determined to continue challenging convention and pushing the boundaries of mainstream entertainment," and so he is.
Once the project is up and running, his intention is to market it to traditional TV networks. With Pepsi and Ford already signed on as sponsors, it appears as if Mr. Fuller may possibly be adding another behemoth to his curriculum vitae and his bank account.
