KidVid: All Aboard! Chuggington’s Trainees Have a Valentine’s Surprise for You
It seems that as long as there have been trains, kids have loved them. So have quite a few adults whose love often borders on obsession. Disney Junior, the Disney Channel’s block for kids aged two through seven, offers a program for the youngest train enthusiasts, Chuggington, that airs daily. Fans know that the program features three “trainees”—Wilson, Brewster, and Koko—and these little guys star in a new DVD from Anchor Bay Entertainment, Brewster’s Little Helper. Arriving on February 14, 2012, it’s the perfect Valentine for that little train-lover you love.
There are six energetic episodes on Brewster’s Little Helper: the title story, “Koko Takes Charge,” “Brewster Knows Best,” “Zephie’s Zoomaround,” “Nurse Wilson,” and “Wilson and the Paint Wagon.” They entertain preschoolers, but they also teach them important, positive lessons in patience, teamwork, friendship, responsibility, cooperation, following instructions, completing tasks, creativity, sharing, and other social skills. Families who watch Chuggington together are given a starting point to discuss these topics as they relate to both trains and people.
Bright CGI-animation makes Brewster’s Little Helper enticing eye candy for kids—so much so they won’t even notice they might be learning something. Each episode is approximately ten minutes of “traintastic” fun for preschoolers.
