Entourage Recap: Let's Hug it Out Part II
The roller coaster ride of the final season of Entourage continues. After riding high in episode two, the boys came back down in this episode. Before the season started, creator Doug Ellin promised a return to season one form. Back then, the boys were on top and times were fun. This week’s show was the opposite of what we were promised.
This week’s episode begins with yet another “Hello, my name is Vince” speech. In the crowd, Vince notices Carl Ertz, a producer who had screwed him out a movie several years ago. As part of the 12-step program, Vince strives to make amends with the producer. Vince departs after agreeing to send him the TV movie script he wrote for Drama.
Drama has his own set of problems this week. He, Eric, and Scott are desperately trying to appease Andrew Dice Clay who has threatened to walk off the show if he doesn’t get a raise. Eric attempts to contact the producer of Drama’s show. Surprisingly, the producer is not interested in granting raises to actors in a show that has yet to air an episode. Drama, Eric, and Scott visit Dice’s house in an attempt to reason with him and to get him to return to the show. Dice refuses, and is replaced by someone not nearly as good. As someone who has spent the past 7 years hoping Drama would make good, this week’s episode is a disappointing development.
Turtle has an unfortunate conversation with the head of the tequila company he works for. He tells him that his services are no longer needed, and that his girlfriend is breaking up with him. We still don’t care.
After finding out that his wife was dating Bobby Flay, Ari decides to reinsert himself back into the dating game. He starts by going out with the stock Entourage woman: attractive, young, and easy to get into bed. After dropping her off, Ari decides to call up old pal, and studio executive, Dana Gordon. They end up sleeping together, which seems to restore Ari’s mojo. Hurry back Ari, this season needs you.
