Why Practice Safe Stress?
Life has its ups and downs. Maybe that’s why most of us love roller coasters; they're a metaphor of how our days play out till that last breath. And, speaking of breath, let me remind you to breathe.
When stress hits the hot button, one of the first things we do is inhale and forget to exhale. So, next time you need to calm down, start with a big belly inhale and exhale slowly. Slowly, like you are in charge of what is happening. Even if you're not. This is a “fake it till you make it” moment.
Somewhere between being a zombie who is sleeping through life and a drama king or queen who freaks out at the drop of a pin, lays the zone. Ahh, the zone. That’s the place where you can look at what is coming at you and make some pretty darn quick decisions on best ways to get through, over, under, or around the obstacles of distress causing you stress.

Now, let me tell you what safe stress is not: it is not a form of population control, although thinking about how many kids to have is important to discuss; it is not becoming a remote TV clicker, it is not about eating your way through all the high-carb. desserts you can find, it is not about sitting at the computer figuring out how to play the newest game in town.
