Stocks with invention and social conscience

I've been a stock and options investor for many years. During this time I noticed one thing, always buy quality. Also, you need to protect yourself with either balancing out your portfolio with bonds or using protective puts on your long investments.

In my blog at "optionstraderonline.com" I try to educate investors by telling them about quality companies. I also explain the basic terminology used in options trading. Many people buy long positions in stocks, hoping they will go up but not using any protection in case the security goes down.

There are many full service brokers such as Charles Schwab at Schwab.com and Fidelity Investments that offer advice along with the ability to purchase these contracts. Also there are a whole host of other companies offering contracts cheaply and these include TDAmeritrade.com and Scottrade.com. I've had good experiences with all of them and would have no problem using there services.

The following stocks that I will talk about today all have one thing in common. They are making profits, but are doing so with socially conscience values.
The first company I will discuss today is Apple Computer. Apple Computer has been a favorite of mine for many years. They invent new products. The products they invent are totally different from anything else being produced. For example lets take the IPOD. If you told me years ago that anything that size could produce the quality music it does, I'd been shocked. So the message here is, if you want to find a standout company, find one that invents and doesn't copy. Apple is one of these companies.

The next company I'd like to talk about is Google. Google came on the scene in 1998 and hasn't looked back. They have the cleanest page for search and are always adding new services. Google's motto is "Do no evil". In these times that refreshing. Google also is a hit with there employees. They have very relaxed work rules which bode well for designers and engineers.
My last pick is Starbucks. Starbucks had some past difficulties, mainly growing too fast. I feel that they have overcome that for now and are positioned for growth in the near future. Also the CEO understands his employees and offers decent benefits to part time employees. He also won't need to appear on Undercover Boss.

I hope you like my ideas and choices and can follow me either, desktop or mobile at optionstraderonline.com. Feel free to leave any questions or comments and run your stock or options ideas by me.
